Starting a WMH playthrough
Wild Monster Hunt is meant to be an alternate gamemode, for this reason you must start a new playthrough via the New Game
menu and use the Wild Monster Hunt quick-start option.
Gameplay, progression, and difficulty
WMH can be both a calming experience and a serious challenge depending on how your approach it, its main focus is to bring you the experience of a Witcher on the path who survives by gathering and hunting in order to take care of his camp and gear.
If however you decide to hunt under-prepared then while not impossible it will feel a lot more challenging or even unfair at times. WMH is a journey and your camp, the preparation you perform there but also the hunt is as important as the final hit on your target.

Compatibility with mods
Wild Monster Hunt was made to be compatible with any kind of gameplay mod you may have. Progression is made in the form of new mechanics, gear, additional buffs on the creatures, and similar things.
You are free to use the combat of your choice be it slower or faster paced, but also the alchemy system that you prefer. There is no wrong choice with WMH.
Nice mods to use with WMH
- Random Encounters Reworked by me, its encounters can add even more life to the map.
- Auto Take All by Faen. You'll be looting a lot in WMH, this mod will make it easier.
Known issues
- the game may crash after starting a new game: restart the game and try again, it seems to only once.
- floating vegetation in the map, please report any floating stuff you see
- the mini-event asking to clear an area may sometimes fail to spawn its targets in the area
- if despite the save locks you manage to reload a save that was in the middle of a hunt, you'll have to re-enter the camp for monsters to start spawning again
